Cotswolds Converted Barn Remodel

Nested in the beautiful Cotswolds, this converted barn was in need of a redesign and modernisation to maintain its country-style yet bring a contemporary twist.

Whether you’re going through a complete renovation, just want some advice to design a room or are interesting in home staging, we’re happy to help. Head to our Design Consultation page to find out more.

The German born owner wanted to bring to life a Germany meets the Cotswolds style. We specified a new mezzanine, complete with a glass and steel balustrade. We kept the decor traditional with a neutral scheme to complement the sand colour of the stones.

The home owner wanted a formal dining room inspired by an art deco scheme, centred around the table she fell in love with and her contemporary artwork. We incorporated a cocktail cabinet and a sideboard to cater to the needs of the space.

This small kitchen is simple and functional to suit the needs of the owner who loves cooking. Fitted with integrated appliances and a good balance of storage and open display. The light blue pendants just frame the island and are a nod to the dining area wall colour.

We kept the original timber beam as a beautiful original feature but updated the flooring to flow both the kitchen and dining space together. The new kitchen features flat panels in a muted dove grey to bring a contemporary touch to an otherwise country chic feel.

Although compact, we've maximise the U-shape kitchen to fit in a large fridge and double oven. The kitchen island is practical too, housing a recycling bin as well as hidden storage and display.

We fitted a large round table to make this space the real hub of the house. We wanted to retain the Cotswolds converted barn features such as the exposed beams and the kitchen island naturally nests within the opening.

The master bedroom reflects the owner's passion for gardening by bringing blues and greens into the space with a touch of gold to create a luxurious feel.

The original living room featured a lot of wood panels that made the overall room seemed smaller and darker.

Our spaces are always designed with the owners' needs in mind. Being a keen gardener, we wanted to create a comfortable reading nook for the homeowner where she could gaze at the large rear garden.

Reading Nook

The converted barn features a large master bedroom with an en-suite. With stunning views of the garden, we created a reading nook, ideal to relax and take nature in.

The owner loves colour and wanted to introduce blues and green. We selected a beautifully textured wallpaper from Casadeco and complimented the scheme with nightstands and a chest of drawers from Gillmore. The tables lamp are from West Elm while the curtains and cushions are made to order by our services.

Small En-Suite Bathroom

The small yet functional en-suite exudes luxury with its gold fittings and large Onyx tiles from Mandarin Stone. The wet room style allowed us to really showcase the tiles, marrying them to the terrazzo inspired flooring.

Guest Bedroom

Colourful guest bedroom with twin beds

We designed the guest bedroom to suit children and visiting adults alike. The homeowner loves colour and wanted us to create a bold scheme.

We opted for an almost terracotta wall colour from Little Greene paints 'Ashes of Roses' and the strong blue Juniper Ash on the skirting boards and doors to anchor the style. Both beds are made to order to suit the space with oversized lamp and mirror to make the space look bigger.

The guest en-suite bathroom is all about fun. We opted for a monochrome style to contrast with the colourful guest bedroom. We sourced geometric tiles that make blur the edges of the space and bring a contemporary feel to the space.
