Contemporary Living Room Snug Design
Part of a large period home, this room was rather unloved and underused. We decided to turn it into a snug, ideal for quiet afternoon reading or relaxing in the evening away from the hustle and bustle of the open-plan kitchen.
Whether you’re going through a complete renovation, just want some advice to design a room or are interesting in home staging, we’re happy to help. Head to our Design Consultation page to find out more.
Deciding to carry out, or not, a specific style throughout the home is often a design dilemma for homeowners. In this case, we decided to give this room its contemporary twist, favouring blues and greys in contrast to an otherwise neutral interior style.
To ensure the space still felt part of the house and complemented its classic interior style, we opted for timeless and natural materials such as the white marble tables and an oatmeal coloured carpet.
Although more compact in size than other rooms in the house, the snug still needed to accomodate a family of four, we therefore sourced a two-seater made to order sofa with a light grey fabric with lots of texture. We added some cushions from our made-to-order collection to provide extra comfort.
Every inch of the space has been utilised and small side tables are an ideal way to add surfaces without overwhelming the room. Pictured here is the Corsham Side Table featuring stainless steel legs and a recycled Elm parquet top.
The room also features a small bay window where we decided to display The Olveston occasional table with a quirky shape and a stone top, ideal to showcase flowers or smaller vases such as our Rimpton collection.
Drawing on our vast experience of architecture, interior design and product sourcing, we enable you to take charge of your home project. We support your vision, providing you with interior design solutions that responds to your needs and expertly sourced product options to suit your budget.
