A Bold & Beautiful Transformation

Bringing New Life to a Period Home
The homeowners approached us to help transform their formal living room, snug, and cloakroom. Having already renovated the upper floors of their period home, they were ready to bring new life to the remaining spaces but needed some design direction.
Maximising Space with Bold Colours
Both living rooms were narrow with tall ceilings, so the challenge was to make the spaces feel larger and less cavernous. The original neutral colour scheme was replaced with bolder choices, starting with a striking blue in the living room, connecting to the period tiles in the entrance. The aim was to incorporate fun pops of colour in the upholstery while maintaining a fairly formal layout.
Enhancing Natural Light with Smart Design
The tall bay window was a standout feature but was partially blocked by the old sofa. The north-facing light cast a cold tone, so strong and bold fabrics were essential. We selected yellow occasional chairs to brighten the room, adding warmth and a joyful element even on dreary days.
A Snug Designed for Relaxation and Play
Adjoining the main living area was a snug space for the kids, designed for games, music, and TV. We continued the blue theme here, using upholstery to create a unique identity for the room. A re-upholstered armchair with vibrant striped fabric became a showstopper, perfectly complementing the bespoke velvet sofa.
